Mostly Regulated started as a way to understand something I kept seeing in both my professional work and my personal life.

Capable people struggling with systems that were never designed for the complexity of their actual lives.

Not because they lacked discipline — but because the structures they were given didn’t match the reality they were operating in.

At the time, I was trying to find a rhythm in my own life and couldn’t. I kept coming back to routines and systems because that’s what everyone talks about. When something wasn’t working, the assumption was always that the routine needed to be better.

Eventually I started asking a different question:

How do I actually want my day to feel?

That shift changed everything.

Instead of trying to force my life into someone else’s system, I started paying attention to where friction was actually happening and what kind of structure would support the reality of my days.

What started as a creative outlet — the Regulation Lab disguised as a household — quickly revealed something else.

There were a lot of capable people struggling in the same ways.

And they didn’t have to be.

Mostly Regulated grew from that realization: that when you can see the system shaping your life clearly, it becomes much easier to redesign it.
